There’s a Revolution Going On…
Ready…a blast from the past…
“Well, there’s a revolution going on in rec rooms, offices, and classrooms around the world…” – Peter Mansbridge (circa 1993 ish) (See video below).
This is how our national news media covered the emerging Internet. No, this is not when the web actually began, as the web traces its roots back to the 60′s, but it was the early 90′s when access started to become more mainstream. In fact, I remember my first laptop (1990: a Compaq), one of the most reliable computers I have ever used, connecting via dial-up! (but I digress).
So, here we are in 2008 (15 years later) – how has the revolution of the Internet evolved for your organization? Yes, the technology has become completely integrated into our society, and this, from a business perspective, is a great thing (most of the time). Now, think about how your organization uses the web today to market itself. Are you maximizing it and all the tools at your disposal? Do you have a website that represents your brand with excellence? Are you maximizing your customer contact via effective web search (can your customers find you online)? Utilizing tools like Facebook, YouTube, and Blogs?
These are important things to reflect upon, assess, evaluate, and re-engineer. In the grand scheme of it all, you cannot afford to not do this…and you must ensure you are doing it well. It really doesn’t cost as much as you might think. And, if you are freaked out by this revolution, there are people available who can help you simplify and implement your 2008 Internet marketing strategy and plan.
Seek them out! Join the revolution…
