Go For a Twhirl
I have been using Twitter now for about 6 weeks and am starting to realize the business application of this handy micro-blogging tool. As I have dug deeper and have begun following more people’s tweets, it has become somewhat difficult to keep up with it all when accessing it only via the web. Well, along comes Twhirl.
Twhirl is not new, just new to me. I have spent the last few weeks asking my social media connections for recommendations on how to manage Twitter better. Most of them have suggested Twhirl. I have also noticed that the Twitter power-users seem to be using Twhirl for posting and managing their Twitter feeds.
Twhirl is a desktop Twitter client that connects Twitter and Friendfeed accounts and provides subtle notifications of new tweets on your toolbar. It runs in the background and instantly notifies you when one of those you follow posts an update. I am still getting used to this but it does seem to make the application more time relevant rather what I have been doing up till now which was reading tweet histories a couple times each day online. Now if someone could suggest or develop an application that would batch those who I follow into groups…I’d be really flying!
I welcome you to share your thoughts on Twhirl or any other applications that have proven exceptionally useful in managing your daily tweets.
