You Are The Business
A month ago I got a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) system with my satellite service. I am so busy during the week that I seldom have time to watch TV. As it is, there are only a handful of shows I like to watch. One of my favorites is Dragons’ Den, a venture-capitalist television program where would-be entrepreneurs pitch their products or services to a panel of investors who assess the business plan and decide to invest or not. I just watched this week’s episode tonight. There was a quote as two “dragons” offered to invest in a product that has really stuck with me…

In this instance, the product was good, but the presentation and the passion of the presenter won the day. This is important for us as small business owners to remember. Our product or service has to be good, but our passion, our commitment, and our integrity have to carry the day. All too often people make a decision to buy into our business because of us. Be compelling and let your passion carry you forward. No one else can do that for you. You are the business!
