Dress It Up…A Little!
This evening, my wife and I are getting ready to go out for a nice Christmas dinner with my brother and his wife. We do this as two couples every year as our Christmas gifts to each other. For one night we dress up in our best clothes and go out to a great restaurant and have a great night out.
In business, we don’t dress up too often any more these days. Casual and business casual are “in”. Sometimes that casualness creeps into our branding, marketing, and communication to our customers. As I was getting ready for this evening, I got to thinking. All of us need to dress-it-up a little more in our representation to our customers. We need to be serious about being our best…all the time. I know when I am a client, I do not want the company representing me to take a casual approach to the way they represent me. I want their very best. So, we should expect nothing less from our customers. They want our best…and that goes way beyond our dress. They want us to give 100% in all we do to represent them. So, as we come towards another year…dress it up a little in the way you represent yourself and your customers in 2009!
