Just Because…Doesn’t Mean I Should…
I came across this short but excellent little post today by James Higginbotham over at Agile Ministry called Lessons from A Workaholic. I would encourage you to read it. Perhaps it is relevant to me because I am juggling a lot of balls on a lot of projects right now. Maybe you are too. I think it serves as a good reminder on balance as we start 2009:
“Just because more work becomes available doesn’t mean I should take it. This means being willing to turn down opportunities that come my way to make more income for my family if it means sacrificing more time away from them.”
As always, thanks for sharing your wisdom James. It will help me keep an even keel as I navigate on my journey!

Yup, yup, yup. My problem with saying no is ultimately an ego problem. Sometimes I just can’t imagine that the job could get done without me.
We are all guilty of that Ego and Pride related infestation! Thanks Marcus!
