A Milestone of Sorts

By David Tonen • February 1st, 2009

There are millions of blogs.  So, the fact that I am writing one is not particularly special.  However there are also many millions of blogs that lie dormant.  I am somewhat pleased that today marks the one year anniversary of my writing the Marketing Integrity blog.  Over this year, I have written 168 posts which averages out to one post every two days.  I think that is acceptably consistent, and I am very pleased.

I would not consider myself a professional writer, but I do think my writing is getting better.  I have practiced being concise and clear.  I think I am improving in that endeavour.  At first, I was not sure that I had much to write about but I have discovered that I look at the world around me with an eye toward marketing.  It is making more more alert to how marketing impacts the world around us.  As a result it seems I always see something worthwhile to write about.

Thanks for joining me on this journey.  I look forward to improving further and sharing more in 2009!

David, I’ve become a faithful reader and appreciate your depth and insight. Congrats on a year – that’s well-past the average life cycle of a blog, so many die early. I can’t wait to read what you write in year #2!
