Willow’s A+ Social Media
Good news…there are ministries that are effectively leveraging technology and social media to communicate information and build community – and that is encouraging for me to see. Let me give you a recent example:
On Tuesday of this week, the Willow Creek Association conducted a live web cast to introduce its faculty of speakers and teachers at the 2009 Willow Creek Leadership Summit that will take place August 6-7, 2009. Willow e-mailed invitations to past attendees of the Summit to join the free live web cast which was available via the Summit Web Site or through the Leadership Summit Facebook group.
Willow did a great job with this and it helps build buzz, anticipation, and most importantly relationships with their “customers”. I give Willow an A+! For those of you who did not get to see it, the recorded version is online here.
If you have not been to the Summit, I would stongly encourage you to make plans to attend a satellite site near you. This is the best leadership training conference I have ever been to and it has become a regular refueling time for me for each of the past seven years. I never miss it and I encourage you to be there this August.
