Twitter (the 140 character micro blogging platform) is growing by leaps and bounds. It still has a long way to go before it sees mass-adoption, but the past year has been monumental for this very diverse social media platform.
In February, the co-founder of Twitter Evan Williams took eight minutes at the TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) Conference to talk about Twitter’s beginnings and the many ideas and applications driving its growth. This is an interesting introduction to Twitter and I think it is a valuable 8 minutes worth watching:
Twitter flies against conventional wisdom. “How can something so simple provide any impact or meaning to a person’s life or a business’ goals?” Social media in general has a difficult time answering the question of value, let alone Twitter.
The people I see and serve that have found value in this tool, or in social media, are the ones that have realized that self-publishing tools can create relationships and these relationships add value in our lives.
