Creative Church Web Sites Change Lives
Churches all too often under estimate the impact their web site can have on people. Tony Morgan got me thinking about that this evening because of his blog post today Web Church Works. Tony shares the testimony via video of how one man’s life was changed by God through the church’s web site. Watch the video, it only takes a couple minutes.
What did you notice?
So often we make the assumption that the web is really the tool for those under 40. But, churches need to understand that more and more it is equally becoming a place for Boomers – churches can leverage the web for boomers too! This guy in the video is likely in his 50′s and his “church” time started out with watching church services on the web (on Tuesday not on Sunday). If churches strategize to use the web creatively it can really extend their ministry outward beyond the walls.
I have seen this happen at the church I attend. We have had many people come to check out our church because they discovered us online first – they did their research and decided to pay a visit – and many stay! We are also recording or sermons on video and posting them online. What you need to know is that we are a small church. We don’t have tons of resources either financially or human – but we are creatively using the web and it is making a difference. Your church can do it too!
Do you have a story to share about how your church is using the web creatively?
