No More Going Through The Motions

I think Matthew West‘s song “The Motions” is becoming my theme song for 2009.  I just came home from a 10-day coast-to-coast business trip.  When you spend a lot of time alone, it gives you a lot of time to think.

We spend so much time “working” that we really should be doing something that we are passionate about and that makes a difference. We don’t want to be be just going through the motions do we?  Take a few minutes to watch Matthew’s video:

    Welcome back! I think you bring up an important point about what we are doing with the majority of our time each day – our jobs.

    My pastor put in another way. Back in the early 1900′s, the term “occupation” was created by employers because you were occupying your time.

    God wants us to be in vocations, where we are called to do something and we do it well.

    If we respond to God’s promptings for our vocation and we do it well then that is time well spent.
