Get clean from the inside out…

What do you think of this recent advertisement by the Catholic Churches in New York City?

They have the site for you to check out too: SoulWoW.com

95,000 views of the video in 2 weeks…good viral marketing by a denomination!

I give you an “A” for pretentiousness, and an “F” for using the words “church” and “marketing” in the same sentence…

The Truth that sets men free is not just another product to be advertised…

    Hi Daniel,

For everyone else, Daniel I think, is offended by a comment I left on another blog, where I, in jest “graded” the post:

    http://troyhamby.com/2009/04/18/susan-boyle-postmodern-prophet/

I posted a second comment on that post to clarify.

Daniel I was not trying to be pretentious, sorry if you took it that way.

As far as including the words “church” and “marketing” in the same sentence…I am guilty of that and I won’t stop regardless of the “F”…it’s what I do!

Hmm, angry, revenge-based comments aside, I think this is a funny and catchy take on infomercials. I see something like this catching the eyes of the 20- or 30-somethings more than the same old message of just come to church.

While there still needs to be authenticity at church, no straying from the true message of salvation through grace, and an attitude of discipleship I think it is great for churches to try viral videos and messages like these.

    All the best!!

Thanks Leo, this is what experimenting with social media is all about right? I agree, don’t compromise the message but try new ways to reach new people! Jesus was creative in how he interacted with various individuals and groups. We need to model that too.
