Glad to have you back David:)
Thanks Mike! Still resting mostly though. New, more extensive, regular posting will resume in 2010.
I’ve been working in the new media space for a couple years now and it seems that church adoption of social media is lagging behind business adoption.
And really it makes no sense. It can be challenging to measure ROI for business involvement with social media. But churches are all about people and relationships already. Or at least they are supposed to be anyway.
Thanks Chris, I agree completely. Of all organizations, churches should be the ones most engaged in relationships…after all, Christianity is about relationship with Jesus and our responsibility is building relationships with people to help them understand the importance of a relationship with Jesus!
Unfortunately, it with technology that churches often lag behind. It is time for churches to realize the value of social media and how it is just another way to build and foster relationships.
